Yvonne M. West B.A. Honors (Linguistics), D.S.P., S-LP(C), R
Speech Language Pathologist
I have been providing personalized speech and language therapy for the past 36 years, 6 years in Canada and 30 years in Bermuda. Born in Canada, I received my Bachelors Honors Degree in Linguistics from the University of Ottawa and my 2 year post graduate degree in Speech Pathology from the University of Toronto. In addition, I am certified with Hanen (Involving Parents as Language Facilitators) and with the Canadian Association of Speech Language Pathologists (SAC). I am also registered with the Council of Allied Health Professionals in Bermuda (R).
My work experience has included hospital settings, nursing facilities, the Hamilton Health Clinic and public and private schools.
I enjoy working with a variety of ages and speech and language disorders. I look forward to more opportunities to gain knowledge and expertise in my private practice. Working and communicating regularly with parents, teachers and service providers to provide a network of strategy and support is critical for the overall success of every client that I service.
I have attended numerous continuing education courses over the years and I will continue to do so to remain current with my standard of practice.
When not at work, I enjoy walking my 2 golden retrievers, traveling through Europe and spending quality time with my family.
